Peterhead earned their place in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup after an incident packed 90 minutes in north Edinburgh as they overcame a gritty Civil Service Strollers side.
The game got underway and the young Strollers started fast out the traps. With three corners for the hosts within the first ten minutes it was looking like the Civil had Peterhead on the ropes. Unfortunially the home side’s hopes of causing an upset were dashed on the half hour mark when Joao Balde received a red card for a reckless challenge, reducing the strollers to ten men. Peterhead now had a player advantage and were thrown a lifeline just before half time when referee Chris Graham pointed to the spot with keeper Mac Whyte saving the penalty, keeping the score line at 0-0 and giving the hosts a boost for the second half.
The second half got underway and another penalty was awarded in the 55th minute after the Strollers keeper had upended McLean, was converted by the Peterhead striker McLean and Brown atoned for his miss by firing home to make it 2-0 shortly afterwards. The young strollers left everything they had on the pitch and thought until the final whistle, but when substitute Lyall Cameron made it 3-0 at the death with a close range effort, there was no way back no for the home team.
This weekend we face Broomhill In a Home Lowland League Fixture. Kick off 3pm at Christie Gillie Park.

Blue Brazils Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Civil Service Strollers at Central Park.
The underdogs had everything to prove and the strollers did that! sensationally seeing off League Two Cowdenbeath 4-2 at Central Park on Saturday. The strollers have drawn Jim McInally’s Peterhead F.C at Christie Gilles Park on Saturday, November 27. Saturday’s game saw the strollers have 51% possession, 11 shots, 8 on target and the traveling fans were entertained to see cowden go down to 9 men after Robbie and Liam Buchanan were shown red at different stages of the game.
Strollers fell behind to a Kris Renton strike but they quickly levelled things up through Euan Valentine’s close-range finish.
Alieu Faye then spurned the opportunity to give Gary Jardine’s men the lead from the penalty spot as his weak effort was easily saved by Cammy Gill.
Liam Buchanan gave the Blue Brazil’s a lead but Strollers found themselves level again before the break as Faye made amends for his earlier spot-kick miss and headed it into the net.
Cowdenbeath were then reduced to nine men with firstly Robbie Buchanan and then Liam Buchanan were given their marching orders within 3 three minutes of each other.
And the strollers capitalised with Faye powering in his second to give Strollers a 3-2 lead before Danny Irving capped off a memorable afternoon for the visitors with a fourth.
