Recent Signings

RECENT SIGNINGS

It was a noteable win against E Stirlingshire in the League Cup on Tuesday. They were unbeaten at CG Park, apparently! However, the game was also notable as 3 of our recent signings all made an appearance.

Bayley Klimionek (left) has joined us on loan from StJohnstone and has made himself at home in the centre of our defence. A powerful player who’s not afraid to step forward, he’s proving to be a great asset for us.

Caelan McCrone (centre) joined us on loan this week from Falkirk. Fresh from a place on the bench in last Fridays Championship game against Livingston. Caelan is a young midfielder of whom there is much hope for a bright future at Falkirk.

Dean Ritchie (right) started in midfield. Dean had been with us previously after he left Hearts. He then had a spell  of playing in Australia! However,he’s back, and we hope the experience he has gained will  help the team.

Fund Raising Dinner

Our Fund Raising Dinner on Saturday night was a great success.  We were treated to some cracking stories from Gary Locke and Darren Jackson and  superb hosting by Scott Wilson.

We’d like to thank all those who contributed auction items and raffle prizes. Also, to all that attended and kindly contributed towards our finances. Every penny makes a difference.  Thank you.

A special mention to the guys from LNER who travelled up from England to attend and their generosity for providing auction items and for supporting us this season. Thank you.

Last, our thanks go to Silverknowes GC for letting us use their function room, the Chef and his staff for providing the food, and, of course, the girls behind the bar.

We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and hope to see you soon.

Ricky Clapperton

Everyone at the club, who knew him, is shocked by the news that Ricky Clapperton has passed away.

Ricky was both a player and a coach here at the Strollers, spanning over 40 years. He was liked and respected not only for his contribution to football but also as a person. He coached at a number of clubs in and around Edinburgh and was always held in high regard. He leaves a big gap at our club, and we know that former players will also be stunned and saddened.

Our thoughts are with his family, especially his son Scott, who also played here, and his many friends.
