There’s Always Next Year

Unfortunately things didn’t go our way on Saturday and we are out of The Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.

It was a close game and we had chances to score but we didn’t take them. An unfortunate error in the first half left us exposed and we were one down. Then after pushing for an equaliser we were caught on the break and we conceded a penalty on 87 mins. We were then two down and essentially out.

However, it was a good day for all who attended. We welcomed two bus loads of supporters, committee members and players from Formartine. The former two taking advantage of our hospitality packages.

We also welcomed a number of ex Strollers including Club legends Colin Arnot and David Cant from the 1973 EoS League Champions team. Great to see them ! Hopefully, more ex players will come along to games in the future. You’re always welcome.

To add to the ocassion the Strollers were accompanied on to the pitch by mascots from Crammond Football Club, with whom we are working closely. They also stayed on as ball retrievers. Well done all of you.

We were given a lovely engraved quaich to mark the ocassion by our opponents. A really nice gesture which we appreciate greatly.

So there it is we are left to think what might have been. But be sure we will be up for the Cup again next season.
