Threave Points and Into The Next Round

It was job done for The Strollers yesterday at Palmerston Park against South of Scotland side Threave Rovers. After a change in stadium and a long coach journey, the players got onto the pitch and started the game very quickly.

With a few regular names out, it was a chance for the fringe players to step up and impress gaffer Jardine ahead of next weeks Scottish Cup clash with Peterhead. With two first half goals from Bob Cole & Matty Shaw saw the strollers got into the half time break with a lead.

The second half saw a few yellow cards for Threave players and management team along with many shouts for free kicks and penalties. With a set in of complacency the strollers conceded a sloppy goal to make it 2-1 and give the home team a little energy. It was not all over as the Threave defence could not control Balde and tripped him in their own box resulting in the referee pointing to the spot. Stepping up to the mark was the man that was fouled and he calmly slotted it home to make it 3-1.

Thanks to Threave for their hospitality and thank you to the supporters who travelled to watch the strollers.
